Need a sign that the summer festival season has begun? Check out Willistead Park this weekend for another edition of Windsor’s most popular art sale — Art in the Park..

Organized annually by the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918), the long-running event draws thousands of people every year — and happens this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This year’s Art in the Park features 260 artisans and artists from across Ontario and Quebec offering wares for sale, a kids’ fun zone with large inflatables, live music at four different locations throughout the park, poetry readings, an outdoor food court with nine vendors, and a spirit tent selling Walkerville Brewery and Hiram Walker & Sons beverages.

Admission is $5. Children under 12 get in free. Willistead Park is located at Chilver Road and Niagara Street.

The event happens rain or shine.

Pick up an advance ticket for $4 at any participating Shoppers Drug Mart in Windsor.

Street parking around Willistead Park will be limited. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Hiram Walker lot at Riverside Drive East and Montreuil Road or the Windsor Regional Hospital shuttle lot at 1591 Kildare Rd., and then ride the free Art in the Park shuttle bus.

Bicycling to the event is also encouraged: There will be a secure bike valet area at no cost with an express entrance at the Chilver Gate.

No pets allowed at the event except for service dogs.
