VICTORIA DAY - NO MEETING  

 

Nick Bibic presented a very moving Memorial Tribute to Evelyn Slobasky. 

 

Holly Ward spoke on the importance of bringing awareness to the Foundation Fund and how it is the driving force of the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918). Also the history on our Rotary Wheel and how it began with a simple design and the decisions that went into changing the logo as the years went on.

 

 

Megan Meloche, who is working on the Archives, spoke about the Club’s history and brought to light some old facts about the Club. Megan then showed pictures of old Club banners, books, committee cards, etc. She also mentioned that the public library has their own collection of our Club’s past and is easily accessible to the public. 

President Lou announced:


► The 6th Annual Riverbed Cleanup for Earth Day took place last Saturday, April 22nd, headed up by Tom Goebel.


►The Miracle League of Amherstburg Opening Day is May 6th from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Need 10-20 volunteers. See Julia Lee to sign up.
► Eli Goldin Ideal of Service Award to be presented Monday, June 19th. See Ian Henderson or Rob Maich for nominations.


►Walter P. Willms New Rotarian Leader Award to be presented Monday, June 19th. See Mike Drake for nominations.

 

1. Mike Drake asked for volunteers for Art in the Park. He will be sending out an email.


2. Mike Drake announced that President’s Night will take place on Thursday, June 22 at Caboto

at 6:30pm.


3. Rick Caron announced that he is organizing a trip to Tanzania, August 12-27. If you’re

interested, please contact him.
