Program from Monday, Aug 10, 2020

Virtual visit from Mayor Drew Dilkens

Monday, Aug 10th, we welcomed Mayor Drew Dilkens to join us for an open discussion about what’s happening throughout Windsor-Essex and re-opening to stage 3

We learned that the city is working hard on the re-opening framework. The re-opening plan will account for those who have heightened concerns for Covid-19 so that we can all move forward together.

The new hospital appeal was turned down, moving the hospital one step forward. Right now, there are many projects in motion, but the hospital has the highest priority. The importance of having private hospital rooms has been highlighted throughout this pandemic, and the new hospital will offer mostly private rooms.

John McGivney Children's Centre

Thanks to a generous grant from the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918), the John McGivney Children's Centre launched their curbside kit program.

This program allows JMCC clients to pick up kits filled with items perfect for having fun while working on important fine motor development and therapy goals at home. These kits are being used during virtual therapy sessions and are also perfect for practicing fine motor skills independently or with a family member. This happy client enjoyed trying out his kit with his Occupational Therapist (OT) before bringing it home. Please talk to your JMCC OT for more information.
