This year\, our fundraising e fforts are focused on the Upper West region of Ghana\, the birthplace of o ur very own Windsor neonatologist\, Dr. Godfrey Bacheyie. We are proud to be joined by the Rotary Club of Tecumseh-Lakeshore\, supporting water init iatives in central Ghana with Father Stephen. Why We're Raising Funds: To drill water wells in villages with no access to clean water. Safe water re duces the spread of disease\, saves lives\, and improves daily living. To help girls stay in school. In many communities\, girls must walk long dis tances to fetch water\, often causing them to leave school early. To expa nd farming through water harvesting. We partnered with the Ghanaian govern ment to build a dam\, allowing farmers to grow two crops annually instead of one. The success has spurred interest in expanding this water managemen t system\, including the need for fencing to protect crops from animals. To provide school essentials. Many children from farming families still ne ed shoes\, supplies\, and meals to support their education.
