We are asking for your support in honour of an exemplary Rotarian who devoted his life to improving conditions in his native India, Hasu Naik.
He single-handedly raised over $1 million dollars and leveraged those funds by 2 or 3 times to bring over 30 major projects to completion such as the Rotary Eye Institute in Navsari, potable water projects in 7 centres, micro-credit projects, mobile veterinary treatment projects, a common development project for the tribal people in Kaprada, visiting medical teams and donations of a variety of significant medical equipment to hospitals and clinics in various cities.

Water is life. Safe water protects and saves lives.
For my family, water is something we consciously protect and conserve, as we live on a property with well water. Recently we even installed a generator to make sure we have access to water if the power goes out.
Think about that. It is so easy to take our access to water for granted when so many have little or no access to clean, drinkable water.
If you look through the Rotary Showcase, you will see a plethora of projects around hygiene, sanitation, and creating greater accessibility to clean water. These projects have taken place in just about every corner of the globe.
Search again and you will also find Environmental projects that range from increasing awareness of plastic in our daily lives to beach clean-ups to responsible sourcing of marine life.
If your club has considered getting involved in a water project, such as reducing marine pollution, sustainable fishing, or conserving coastal and marine areas I strongly recommend you join us for a few days surrounded by the powerful ocean and hear from those who have blazed a path.
All over the world initiatives are taken to make our planet more sustainable. Healthy oceans and seas are essential to our existence. Oceans cover 70 percent of our planet, and we rely on them for food, energy and water (regardless of if you have a well on your property or not).
