Socks and Bottoms

Rotary Clubs in Windsor-Essex come together at this time each year to work together towards the Socks and Bottoms campaign.

The Socks and Bottoms campaign is an annual community charity drive to collect brand-new undergarments and hygiene essentials for people in need in our community. The drive distributes items to over 45 local charities and social service agencies across Windsor and Essex County (supporting shelters, families in financial hardship, and individuals experiencing homelessness).

What is collected:
  • New underwear
  • New socks
  • New gloves and mittens
  • Baby and Adult diapers
  • Toilet paper
Why Socks and Bottoms: Underwear and socks are among the most frequently overlooked items during standard food bank or clothing donations, yet they are vital for personal hygiene, warmth, health, and human dignity.

Items will be collected until November 27, 2026.  You can bring your donation to a Rotary meeting, the Rotary office or we can pick up (call Marcela 519-563 - 9630 or email marcela.diaz@cogeco.ca to arrange). Monetary donations are also accepted, e-transfer to info@rotary1918.com Password: Rotary.

All items collected will be dropped off on the Rotary Socks and Bottoms Community Drop-Off Day: Saturday, November 28, 2026 @ the Caboto Club from 10 am - 2 pm

Help Double the Impact of Eye Care in Haiti

A generous Rotary Arch Klumph Society member is matching donations to Global Eye Project dollar-for-dollar, up to $250,000, through November 30, 2026.

Since 2010, Global Eye Project has worked to bring accessible eye care to rural Haiti. The Haiti Eye Clinic in Fond-des-Blancs has provided more than 143,000 free eye exams and 7,300 advanced procedures, serving a region of more than 500,000 people.

The clinic has outgrown its current space, which will no longer be available after 2027. Land has been purchased for a permanent eye care centre, and the next step is building a facility to sustain and expand these essential services.

Every donation will be doubled. For example, a $2,500 contribution becomes $5,000. Reaching the full match would generate $500,000 to support ongoing programs and the permanent eye care centre.

Rotary clubs and individual Rotarians can contribute through Niskayuna Rotary, earmarked for the Haiti Eye Clinic, or directly through Global Eye Project.

Deadline: November 30, 2026.
