Dr. Chitra Rangan gave an insightful presentation on “Quantum Computing: What It Is and Why It Matters.”
The presentation explored what makes quantum computers fundamentally different from classic computers and how their unique capabilities could make them exponentially more efficient for certain tasks, including code-breaking.
The implications are significant, particularly for financial institutions that rely on the secure transfer of sensitive financial information and funds. As a result, the development of quantum computing has become a rapidly growing industry, with billions of dollars at stake.
Dr. Rangan also highlighted the exciting potential for quantum computing to help address some of today’s most pressing challenges, including climate change and wildfire prevention.
The presentation offered a fascinating look at a rapidly evolving technology and the ways it could shape our future.

We want to continue to do great work locally and globally, but we need you! To qualify for District 6400 grants, our members must each donate $100 USD (the per capita giving amount) to the Annual Fund.
The grants allow our club to complete many of our charitable projects and initiatives throughout the year. Your donation must be made by the end of May each year to qualify.
