January 8: Centennial Kick-Off Luncheon: This Monday noon luncheon will be the kickoff to our 100-year anniversary. We are celebrating all year long and this event will highlight the important celebrations and community events that will happen throughout 2018. This luncheon will also be open to members of the community, and we encourage you to bring guests. Don’t miss this great way to start off the new year! The AGM for both the Club and the Foundation Fund was held.

David Eady, Secretary of the Club, presented the minutes of the December 5, 2016 AGM and a motion was adopted approving these minutes.

Gord Faas presented the Financial Statements for 2016-2017 and a motion was adopted accepting the Financial Statement as presented.

Motions were also approved, presented by Past President Lou Valente, naming Jules Hawkins as Club President effective July 1, 2018, Gord Faas as President Elect effective  July 1, 2018 and Gerry Pocock as President Nominee. Also confirmed were the following Club Directors effective July 1, 2018: Ryan Mancini, Cindy Duggal, Khassan Saka and Moe Pomerleau.

A motion was approved accepting the actions of the Club and its Directors for 2016-2017

Foundation Fund Secretary Ron Arkell confirmed a quorum was present and recorded the minutes. The agenda, history and purpose of the Foundation was presented.

A motion to approve amendments to the By-Laws of the Foundation Fund was approved, as well as the minutes of the AGM held December 6, 2016.

Don Marsh, Chair, then gave his report on the goals and objectives for the coming year.

Emma Bufton presented the Treasurer’s Report for the period of July 1, 2016 thru June 30, 2017. A motion was adopted to approve the Financial Statements for 2016-2017.  

A motion was approved that the Foundation issue a RFP for Auditors in view of Intention of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP to introduce a fee increase of 100%.

Ron Arkell, Don Marsh and Bob Thompson were appointed as Directors for a term July 1, 2018 thru June 30, 2021. 

A motion was approved accepting the actions of the Foundation Fund and its Directors for 2016-2017.

Battery Box Program

The Battery Recycle Box Program is active. Please drop your used batteries, light bulbs, ink cartridges and other recycle items in the battery box at the back of the room.
