Thanks to the presenters at the last meeting, sponsored by our New Generations Committee. It was wonderful to hear about the incredible experiences these young people had, from developing first-hand knowledge about "Service Above Self" in Bangkok (Georgina Colthurst), to learning about leadership in the Canadian Maritimes (Karl Zhu). Rotary Youth Leader Awards (RYLA) alumni (Jessica Larkin and Kristi Koutros) also explained how much of an impact the program had on their lives. Thanks also to our members and their guests for a great turn-out!
  • Mike Drake presented Bill MacArthur with his commemorative 20-Year pin. Thank you for your dedication to Rotary.

  • Tom Goebel chairs the District Tree Planting Committee and explained that the goal is to plant 600 trees, building on the theme of this year, "Making a Difference".

  • Janet Kelley urged meeting attendees to help distribute Children's Fest posters and lawn signs, as the event is less than one month away. Also, as part of the Legacy Project, a reminder that the cut-off date for purchasing items for the Centennial Rotary Plaza is September 1st.

  • Walter Willms introduced the New Generations Committee, and Allison Prieur, the president of the committee, introduced the speakers: Georgia Colthurst and Karl Zhu. Don Larkin introduced RYLA alumni Jessica Larkin and Kristi Koutros.
