We hosted our very first Bites and Brews for Polio at Walkerville Brewery! A wonderful evening that brought together Rotarians and friends for great food, great company, and a common goal, the eradication of polio.
Every year, we get a little closer to making polio history, but there’s still work to do. As long as polio exists anywhere, children everywhere remain at risk.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and our sponsors, RBC, Walkerville Brewery and Roland's Signs & Lighting, in raising a glass (and some funds!) to help End Polio Now.
On Monday, October 21, members of our Club joined the team at West Gate Public School to serve breakfast as part of the VON Ontario Student Nutrition Program (OSNP)!
Earlier this year, OSNP received one of our Community Service Grants, and seeing that support in action was truly meaningful for our members. Together, we helped ensure students started their day nourished and ready to learn.
As Michele Legere, Community Development Coordinator, shared: “Every time we collectively provide food to students in school, we are creating opportunities for everyone to succeed and be their best. OSNP is thankful to have you a part of feeding tummies and fueling our future! Service Above Self was exemplified.”
Food insecurity continues to be a challenge in our community, and programs like OSNP make a real difference! When children have access to healthy, consistent meals, they have the energy, focus, and confidence to reach their full potential!

Members of the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) joined fellow Rotary clubs from across Windsor-Essex at SWO Gleaners to help prepare and package 8,000 lbs of fresh produce (carrots, peppers, zucchini, and onions) for dehydrated soup mix.
Together, 120 volunteers blended and packed an incredible 175,000 servings in just eight hours!
These nutritious meals will help feed both local families and communities around the world — including a large shipment heading to Burkina Faso.
A huge thank you to SWO Gleaners and all our Rotary friends for their hands-on dedication to ending hunger locally and globally.
We want to continue to do great work locally and globally but we need you! To qualify for District 6400 grants, our members must each donate $100 USD (the per capita giving amount) to the Annual Fund.
The grants allow our club to complete many of our charitable projects and initiatives throughout the year. Your donation must be made by the end of May each year to qualify.

A Film to Support END POLIO NOW
Join us on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 5:25 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre for an enlightening evening to commemorate World Polio Day.
The film – “Breathe” – which is based on the true story of Robin Cavendish, who became paralyzed from the neck down by polio at the age of 28, will be presented, followed by a Q&A hosted by Past Rotary International President Jennifer Jones.
The event will be a part of the Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF). WIFF is one of the fastest-growing cultural events in Southwestern Ontario. See attached for more information.

The goal of our event is to raise awareness and funds as part of World Polio Day. World Polio Day is a time for Rotary members, public health advocates, and all who want a world free from polio to come together, recognize our progress in the fight to end polio. All money raised with donations is matched 2:1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, so the impact is tripled.

Foundation Celebration - November 6, 2025
The Foundation Dinner will be held at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center, Southgate, on Thursday, November 6. Tickets are $65 per person or $600 for a table of eight — which includes special recognition in our program and at the event.
