Rotary Satellite Club of Windsor (1918) Evening

On August 22nd a formal request was brought forward to the Club Board by PDG Rick Caron, along with Past Presidents and other members to create a Satellite Club.    Discussion ensued and The Board approved the creation of the Satellite Club.

The Satellite Club is not a new Rotary club - all who participate in the Satellite are members of the host club, Windsor (1918), and are bound by its bylaws and constitution. There are no separate dues from those already paid by members of Windsor (1918). The first chair of the Satellite Club will be Colleen Mitchell and the Secretary will be Bev Cyr.

The purpose of this new Satellite Club is to provide an alternative meeting time to members or potential members who aren't in a position to attend our current scheduled meetings.    It will also help in the retention of current members.

The Satellite club will have its meetings on Tuesday evenings from 7 – 830 P.M. possibly at the Safety Village. There are still a number of details to be worked out.   Members of the Satellite Club will serve on Club Committees, and participate in our Club Fundraisers.
As all decisions of the Club Board are binding subject to appeal, we are asking that if you wish to challenge this decision of the Board in order for the question to come to the General Membership for discussion please contact President Gord Faas on or before September 15, 2019.

Fabulous turn-out at the 7th annual Fish Fry - a benefit for water in Ghana, West Africa! We’re making a difference; for every ticket sold and every sponsor who supports this event, we’re that much closer drilling wells in a village that currently has little to no access to clean water. These are rural areas where, before these wells are installed, people get their water from dirty ditches and ponds, or else have to walk several kms to the nearest village. Thanks to everyone who is supporting this event - we’ll be able to bring clean water to villages and prevent water-borne illness and deaths.

A special thank-you to Rotary Club of Essex for making all the food - it’s a huge job! And to all the volunteers who made this evening run so smoothly, and the sponsors - you’re incredible!
