Maryvale Plaque Presentation for Ian Henderson
The Rotary (1918) & Maryvale joined together to honour the late Ian Henderson. Allan Kidd, President of (1918), Gerry Pocock, PP of (1918) & close friend of Ian’s, Jules Hawkins, Rotarian & current President of Maryvale Board of Directors along with other Rotarians & staff of Maryvale placed a plaque at the entrance to Maryvale’s Rotary Home for Children and Youth.
Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) was the driving force which brought about the establishment of this facility at Maryvale for local youth facing mental health issues. Services include Windsor Regional Hospital acute care beds, child psychiatrists & counselling. Ian, a gemmologist, was known to many local residents for his expertise behind the Gold Shop, earning the reputation as the place for exquisite jewellery, he was equally well known for his belief in supporting his community. He had many interests with two of his loves being Rotary & Maryvale. He was good humoured, generous of spirit and a deeply loyal friend.
