Youth Beach Volleyball

You're invited to participate in our upcoming Volleyball Tournaments. Please note one volleyball tournament is specifically for the Windsor-Essex School board while the other is for our Riverside Volleyball Tournament.

High School Beach Volleyball Charity Championship 2023
Entry fee
10 cans per player. All can goods will benefit our local Windsor-Essex food banks. Two players per team only. Total of 4 players from each school.
Start times
All pool play games run from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 pm including the Beach Championship. Teams only play one pool night and the top 4 teams each night of pool play move on to the Charity Beach Championships on Mon, June 5.

Mon, May 29: Sr. Boys Pool Play
Tues, May 30: Sr Girls Pool Play
Wed, May 31: Sr Boys Pool Play
Thur, June 1: Sr Girls Pool Play
Tournament Championship Night
Mon, June 5: Beach Championship Night (top 4 teams from each night of pool play will qualify)
Location
College Boreal Courts (7515 Forest Glade Drive just east of Lauzon Parkway).
Please note, the courts are hidden on the southeast side of the college (you will see them once you are in the far east side of the parking lot on the east side of the college).
Rules
Most Doubles beach rules will be in effect except players will be allowed to receive the serve overhead with open hands like indoor volleyball. Players will not be allowed to either tip the ball or volley it over the net as per beach rules.
Free Volleyball Clinic - hosted by Head Canadian Olympic Beach Coach, Jim Cooke
A free beach volleyball clinic will be hosted on Saturday, May 27 from 1:00 -4:00 for any players or coaches that would like to learn the rules and strategies involved with the beach game. It's advantageous and recommended that players who are unfamiliar with beach volleyball rules attend the clinic to be better prepared for their pool play games. Head Canadian Olympic Beach Coach, Jim Cooke will be the instructor for this clinic.
Registration
Registration is first come, first served so if your players have a specific night they would like to play in the pool play they should register early to avoid disappointment.

RiversideYouth Beach Volleyball Clinic 2023

Jr Division:
Jr players are usually new to the game and begin as early as grade 5.

Intermediate Division:Intermediate players have one or more years of experience playing beach volleyball. Also, they have played for either a volleyball club team or their school teams for a couple of years minimum.

Senior Division:Senior players are high school-age players that have two or more years of beach volleyball experience or have played on their High School or Club teams for usually a couple of years minimum.
Information about our sponsor Riverside Volleyball
This tournament is hosted in collaboration with Riverside Beach Volleyball Club. They have been in operation for over 20 years and its beach volleyball program began in 2016 at College Boreal. They operate 3 levels of beach clinics three days per week and host youth weekend tournaments. Players range from 10 to 23 years of age and play across three divisions - Beginner, Intermediate and Competitive beginning in May.
Riverside Summer Schedule
Beginner: Wednesday from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30pm
Intermediate: Wednesday nights from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00pm
Competitive: Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00pm.
