Tanzania VTT - September 2023

After two years of meticulous planning, member and Midwife Andrea Cassidy and her team have returned from Tanzania, marking the successful culmination of the Tanzania Maternal Newborn Vocational Training initiative. Andrea and her team supported local midwives and healthcare professionals in the Shia District, working towards the commendable goal of reducing infant and maternal mortality rates. Rita Rampure, a cherished friend of Rotary, played a pivotal role as a critical donor to the project. In recognition of her significant contribution. Her generous donation of a new Ultrasound Machine to the Siha District Hospital, alongside the Vocational Training Team's efforts, promises to bring about a transformative impact on the outcomes of healthy births in the region and elevate the standard of care for expectant mothers throughout their pregnancies.
