An annual tradition. The 2nd President's Day was held this past Monday, honouring Past President's who have served our Club.

The assignment for each president was to choose one mentor from this Club, and one from other walks of life. This proved to be no easy task, as it was hard for most to select just one! The Club enjoyed hearing all the different responses. Here are some highlights of what some PPs took away from their selected mentors. All good advice!

  • Mike Drake selected Sandra Pupatello as one of his mentors, and he remembers her introducing her team as working with her, not for her: "We work together" and not "he works for me".
  • One of Janet Kelly's mentors was Norm Wheeler, who greatly impacted her by saying "do what it takes to get the job done".
  • Rick Caron's non-Rotary mentor Neil Gold recommended him to "look at the idea, not the person who it came from".
  • Bev Cyr selected Fred Sorrell who is quoted as having said "say what you mean and mean what you say". Also, her grandfather often reminded her: "To thine own self be true".
  • Gary Wintermute selected Dave Davis who inspired him by saying "leave the world in a better way than when you entered it".
