Ghousuddin Frotan, an Afghan Journalist was our guest speaker this past Monday.
He shared his story of moving from Kabul to Windsor in August 2021. He and his family faced many challenges escaping Afghanistan and had a long journey to their life in Canada, staying in Mexico for 4 months and arriving in January in 2022. He spoke about the challenges that Afghanistan faces today and what girls in the country are facing because of the Taliban. Ghousuddin shared details about the WESA academy and the great work that they are doing to educate girls and their efforts to keep them safe. However, urgent support is needed for girls in Afghanistan because of the Taliban who are no longer allowed to continue going to school.
