18 Rotarians tuned in to hear Imran Abdool speak on the article he co-authored with Dr. Hance Clark on the lessons to learn from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abdool stressed that Canada must win the war on pandemic preparedness but too often health care has been under-funded and lacking in necessary resources.  There is little interest in health-care funding in times of plenty.  Instead of focusing on the here-and-now, policies must be adopted to handle future health-care issues: “Don’t lose sight of the big picture.” The article can be found at https://www.cbc.ca/news/opinion/opinion-canada-health-care-covid-19-1.5510548

A question-and-answer period followed Abdool’s presentation leaving members with much to contemplate.
