On March 15th, our speaker was Dr. Rebecca Major. She describes herself as a difficult Metis woman, but she has a long list of experiences and accomplishments in the Metis community.
Dr. Major wants to make sure we are aware of the big issues facing Indigenous people (because not everyone is aware of these very serious issues): Missing and murdered indigenous women; lack of clean water for some reserves; forced sterilization of indigenous women.
