Tonight’s meeting began with the reading of a letter from Rotary Zones 28 and 32 expressing condolences for the tragic events at the Kamloops Resident School.
This was followed by the happy news that potential member, Natalie Suzor was awarded the Woman Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year by Enactus.  Natalie was the Project Manager for the Liberty Project.  Project Liberty is fighting trauma by teaching women in developing countries to produce reusable menstrual pads.

Members also enjoyed a short video announcing that incoming District Governor, Arunna Khousik has received the 2021 Woman of Excellence Social Justice Award.  In her acceptance speech, Arunna challenged us to incorporate social justice in all our thinking.  This led to tonight’s program which was the “Reality of Racism Today” - a video prepared by the Rotary Club of Toronto and featured 3 speakers who shared their personal experiences with racism.  This video was Part 1 of a three-part program and inspired a conversation of Satellite members’ own experiences.  Part 2 and 3 will be considered for future meetings
