This week we welcomed new member Natalie Suzor to 1918 with the help of Past President Gerry Pocock.
Our speaker was Waseem Habash, VP (Academic), St. Clair College. He spoke about Leadership in Education During a Crisis. He laid out the activities the leadership of St. Clair College took when faced with the Covid lock down in March of 2020, and how they lead to being able to get face to face learning back by September of 2021. He noted that leadership is something that Rotary is very familiar with, given our collaboration with the community. He defined leadership as the action of leading, the art of motivating people to act toward achieving a common goal. The points Mr. Habash shared regarding leadership can be used in many situations: Do not panic. Communicate quickly and effectively. Be ready for long hours and lack of sleep. Create a positive atmosphere.
